CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

1. NUMBER OF EXHIBITS PERMITTED PER FINANCIAL MEMBER:
1.1 One or two pieces, which may be for sale. (All exhibits for sale must be the exhibitor’s original design and work.)
1.2 A third piece is permitted provided it is for sale.

2. SALE CONDITIONS:
2.1. All exhibits for sale must be the exhibitor’s original design to comply with copyright laws.
2.2. The Guild receives a 20% commission on the selling price of all sold exhibits.

3. PIECES ELIGIBLE FOR ENTRY ARE THOSE:
3.1 Designed and executed by a member: confirmed as such in the entry form at “Design Source”;
3.2 Designed and executed by a member as a major piece for Guild Certificate Courses and confirmed as such in the entry form at “Design Source”;
3.3 Completed during the 24 months preceding the current members’ annual exhibition;
3.4 Which may have been shown outside the Melbourne metropolitan area, eg, regional branches;
3.5 Shown within Embroidery House as part of Guild Certificate Courses or monthly displays only;
3.6 Made from a commercial kit, pattern or chart in a book or magazine or copyrighted photograph, and fully acknowledged in the entry form at “Design Source” (company name, book title, photograph/picture in named book, etc). These pieces may NOT be for sale.
3.7 Compliant with point 5 below.

4. PIECES NOT ELIGIBLE FOR ENTRY ARE THOSE:
4.1 Which have previously been shown in any exhibition within the Melbourne metropolitan area, including Embroidery House.
4.2 Designed by a tutor and made in a class.
4.3 Where two or more individual exhibits are in one padded bag or container.
4.4 Contained in plastic or unpadded bags, pillow cases, or other flimsy containers.

5. REQUIREMENTS:
5.1 Each exhibit must be packed in its own named padded bag or other suitable container to protect the exhibit and that of others from damage and to facilitate accurate repacking.
5.2 Each individual part of a multiple-piece exhibit may be presented in one padded bag or container.
5.3 Each exhibit must be accompanied by a completed official entry form available from Embroidery House office or your local branch, preferably completed prior to delivery.
5.4 The green copy from the entry form is to be securely attached to each exhibit in an inconspicuous place showing the exhibitor’s name, address and phone number.
5.5 If exhibit is too small to attach the green form, attach a named tag and phone number.
5.6 The yellow copy from the entry form is to be secured to the outside of the padded bag or suitable container.
5.7 A hanging device must be attached to framed exhibits and wall hangings. 5.8 Quilts must have a sewn-on sleeve for insertion of a rod, and be accompanied by a named rod of appropriate length.
5.9 Pieces must be collected by the exhibitor (or nominated representative with signed authorisation slip) within 5 working days after the close of the exhibition. After this time, no responsibility will be accepted for any pieces remaining.

NOTE:
• Please sign each entry form if you agree with the statement about photography.
• Each exhibit is covered by the Guild’s insurance to a limit of $3,000. Additional insurance is the responsibility of the individual member.
• An insurance figure is required on the entry form - this is to be sale price minus the 20% commission.
• The Exhibition Committee has the right to refuse exhibits that are non-compliant with the conditions of entry.
The Guild’s Board has the right to refuse exhibits deemed unsuitable, inappropriate for display or non-compliant with the conditions of entry.
